I do not feel like working!

Today is Wednesday, the day I most look forward to in the week. For one, I have no scheduled meetings (although something usually comes up), so I can sit back in my little corner and really get a ton of work done. Plus the day after Wednesday is Thursday and then it's Friday which means - Yay, the weekend! I absolutely do not feel like working today. I have so much on my mind. There are about a million wedding things to do plus I need to create my budget for May. I also need to find something fantastic to wear to Hilary and Casey's wedding next weekend and my bridal luncheon and rehearsal. I hate these days - I could actually stay on top of work and feel slightly ahead (and not to mention possibly leave at 5) but I just cannot make myself get motivated. UGH!

This weekend we have our couples' shower in West Columbia. My mom's friends are hosting and it is a happy hour theme. I am excited about spending another weekend with my honey and getting to see my family and friends. Plus I will most definitely need a happy hour by the end of the week! We are also finally sending out the invitations. I know, they are going out a week late. But I've decided not to sweat the small stuff - if someone really doesn't come to our wedding because they receive the invitation 5 weeks and not 6 weeks before then it's their loss. I just really cannot believe how close the wedding is getting. I think my bridal portraits went really well last weekend - I just hope they turned out decent. I really do have a lot of little things to do for the wedding but I feel like they are all manageable. I am just ready for the big day to be here - and to absorb every second of it. Weddings are such a fun time and I have thoroughly enjoyed my engagement. Now it's someone else's turn :)

So George and I started a healthy venture this week. I am not trying to drop any lbs. but simply eat healthier and become a regular visitor to the gym again. I remember when I used to go religiously and I was much happier and slept much better. George is making a final lap on his wedding diet. I bet when we get to France he will feel like he is in heaven, after eating well for six weeks. He really hates the gym - and loves unhealthy food - so I am really proud of him for making this commitment. We are both so busy with work and life it's hard to cook a healthy meal every night so that is another goal of ours. If anyone has any quick, easy, delicious recipes, please let me know!

Well I need to get back to work so I can leave at a decent hour today! Happy Hump Day to everyone :)

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

I do not like making decisions. And not to mention that it is almost impossible for me to make a decision without checking with someone first. So this whole wedding planning business is driving me a little bit crazy! I've gotten alot done - and I am thinking it may actually be possible that most tasks will be done when the wedding rolls around BUT now I am starting to second guess EVERYTHING I have decided on. From the colors, to the flowers, linens, food, location, invitations and even my dress! AHHHH - this is one of those times that only a good glass of wine can remedy.

I think I had the most fantastic bachelorette party EVER last weekend. I really just came away feeling incredibly blessed. I've always heard that if you have a handful of friends you should consider yourself lucky. Well I've got 15 fabulous friends that made the trip to College Station last weekend for me and I have to admit I got a little teared up when the weekend was all over. I think I just realized that I had fifteen true friends (plus a couple more that couldn't make it) that would give up their weekend for me and it really just overwhelmed me. I feel unbelievably blessed and cannot wait for all of us to get together again at the wedding.

So this weekend I will be taking my bridal portraits. And back to my awful decision making skills - now I am thinking I need to re-think my updo and make up. This is really ridiculous. I've got to stop! I am taking them at the Dallas Arboretum. We'll see how they turn out. I have my "sort of" photogenic days and then those days when I am super un-photogenic. Lets just hope this weekend is not the latter.

Before I get back to work (since I have about a million and two things to do) I just have to rave about how wonderful my fiance is. I am so emotional right now between wedding plans, being out of town so often, trying to decide what I want to do career-wise, etc. and he has just taken it all in stride. He is truly my best friend and I am so excited that he has decided to put up with me forever! Out of all of the decisions I've had to make in my life, deciding to marry him was one I didn't need a second opinion on.

We're jumping on the blogging bandwagon!

Hi everyone! I've been wanting to start a blog for a little while and decided to wait until George and I tied the knot so that our friends and family could stay in tune with what's going on in our world, even if they are miles away. Well, I'm not officially a Buckmaster yet but in 58 days I will be so I decided to take the plunge. I've always loved to write so I think this will be a great experience for me and will probably end up being a little therapeutic as well!

Since the title of this blog is Meet the Buckmasters, let me introduce us:

Meet George: George is from Jasper, TX. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in electrical engineering. He has one younger sister and one older brother and two wonderful parents. He works as a Sales Engineer for Johnson Controls - which means he sells energy management systems to commercial buildings. So if you are ever in a building and see Johnson Controls on the thermostat, either he or someone he works with is the reason you are hot or cold or just right :) George is one of those people that never had to study yet always made A's and has never met a stranger. I don't know anyone that doesn't like him. He is an avid golfer and enjoys Saturdays golfing with his best buds. He also loves being on the lake, traveling and sports - especially Dallas teams (Cowboys, Mavericks) and Aggie football and basketball.

Meet Lindsey: I am from West Columbia, TX. I graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in communications. I am the oldest and have one little brother and two fabulous parents. I work for a public relations firm which means I basically serve as a publicist for my clients - which are consumer brands. I try to get them free, positive media coverage. I like shopping, mojitos, traveling and spending time with my family, friends and my George! I also have a maltipoo, Abby, that I love to death and will probably be making an appearance once or twice. George has a boxer, Tyson, that is just so precious. We have a great little family!

George and I met while attending A&M through one of my best friends, Mary Ann Rogers. She went to high school with George. I have to say I am so excited about marrying George and being the best wife I can be!
